(Dec. 9) -- A bank robber donated $1 of his ill-gotten stash to charity Tuesday.
Tommy Ellison, the manager of a Commercial Bank branch in a Walmart store in Nacogdoches, Texas, told local TV station KTRE that a man approached a teller with a note saying he needed money. As the robber fled Walmart with the cash, he dropped a dollar into a Salvation Army kettle on the way out.

Police apprehended the man eight minutes later and recovered all but $1 of what was stolen.
Ellison says the bank is allowing the Salvation Army to keep the dollar.
