(Nov. 28) -- One thing on Quinn Roberts' Christmas wish list last year wasn't a typical request for a 7-year-old. Quinn wanted a new kidney.
Last month, on her 8th birthday, a friend of the family granted the wish Santa Claus couldn't, reported the Atlanta NBC affiliate 11Alive.com.

"A gift like this is overwhelming anyway, but there's something beautiful and magical that it's happening on her birthday," Quinn's mother, Julia, told the TV station.
For the donor, there was never a question of whether she would give the organ.
"I'm a mother. To see your friend go through what the Roberts had to go through ... to me there was no other response if I could help in any way," Cheryl Thomas told NBC's "Today" show.
Quinn and her older brother, Gage, share an inherited kidney disorder that is incurable. Gage also recently received a transplant. Both children are adjusting to their donated organs, their mother wrote on her website.
"You buy things just to buy things, because that's what you do at the holidays, but this was something I could really give, and it was meaningful," Thomas told the Atlanta TV station.
