(Dec. 11) -- Ben Aucoin was on hard times earlier this week when he asked a man in a Walmart parking lot in Harahan, La., for some change.
The father of four, 23, had lost his job as a steelworker three weeks ago. Two weeks ago his car broke down. And the electricity at his home was due to be shut off, WWLTV reports.

New Orleans Saints player Anthony Hargrove gave a down-on-his-luck man $300.

The man rebuffed the request, but his friend -- New Orleans Saints defensive lineman Anthony Hargrove -- gave Aucoin three $100 bills.
“You have no idea,” said Kandis Aucoin, Ben’s wife, told WWLTV. “It was like a gift from God. It’s amazing how bad we needed this. It’s Christmas time. I can’t ever describe the feeling. Even my husband was in tears.”
Hargrove, 26, knows what it's like to be in dire straits. As a child, he and his family were homeless for a time, and he has had a troubled football career, losing a college scholarship and being suspended after testing positive for a banned substance.
“I’m a believer of Christ and Christ says what you do unto least you do unto him,” Hargrove said. “Somebody has helped me get to where I’m at. ... I saw an opportunity to help get somebody something.”

Christmas is being made possible for the Aucoin family in Lousiana because of the generosity of NFL player Anthony Hargrove. When the destitute Ben Aucoin was asking people in a Walmart parking lot for some spare change, Hargrove handed over three $100.
