(June 30) - Many people say that they can't live without their BlackBerries, but that was actually true for one skier during an accident on the slopes. However, it wasn't because of great reception or excellent long distance service.
David Fitzherbert, 52, fell 70 feet into a crevasse while skiing in the Swiss Alps, according to a report on ABC News.

The only anchor keeping the London finance broker from slipping through the crack and suffering a potentially fatal 700-foot nosedive was the half-inch mobile phone nudged in his breast pocket.
Fitzherbert spent two hours trapped between the two ice layers before rescue teams could retrieve him and bring him to the hospital. Although he suffered facial bruises, a concussion and hypothermia, his BlackBerry survived the accident without damage.
"It was still working well enough for me to tell [his wife] I was alive," he said. "I couldn't believe it."
